So far my experience here has been magnificent though there are a few things that because I’m used to a different lifestyle is a bit difficult here, but it’s something that is more of a personal preference rather than something that Is not available here. I am someone that very much appreciates independence and having the chance to have alone time while also having a sense of being able to do things as I please without being restricted. Having said this one of the part of the rules while being abroad is the curfew hours and also me not having my car here. Though I can easily walk from place to place it is the fact that I use late night drives back home as a way to destress and have some alone time. But again as I mentioned in my program I am not allowed to drive any vehicle for safety purposes which is understandable. Furthermore, something that I have struggled with here is the fact that in Mexico it is more common to eat dinner a lot later than what I am accustomed to at home. In my time here I have found that most people eat dinner from earliest 8pm to latest 10pm which for me is extremely late and though I attempted to adjust to the schedule I just ended talking to my host mom if we could possibly eat earlier like around 6pm since for just the comfortability of my body it would be better. Long story short things worked out and it’s something that was easily resolved. Other than these few things I find that the lifestyle here is a lot more relaxed and also more about community which is something that I have grown to appreciate.
