Following our groups travels to Singapore, we boarded on a bus and headed about 6 hours to Kuala Lumpur. After arriving, we spent the first 2 days exploring the glorious sights that Kuala Lumpur had to offer. Both religious and architecturally, Kuala Lumpur has some of the greatest buildings I have come across in my life. The Petronas Towers offered great views for us from over 80 stories high. Our group also spent time at the Batu Caves. Luckily, we visited on the Thursday, which was Vesak Day, a Buddhist holiday. This meant we got to experience not only the breathtaking views after the 200+ steps to the top, but also the celebrations and rituals taking place inside of the caves.
Both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur showed me fascinating and historic landmarks that increase in magnitude once going to see in person. It was truly inspiring to see the authentic passion that goes into all of the religions in person. I would have never been able to see how rich the history of culture and religion was without visiting!
