I enjoyed my time in Kuala Lumpur and made some exquisite memories. As we toured the city, I admired the beautiful high rises, ate a variety of delicious cuisines, and observed the harmonious life shared by Malaysian citizens. It was empowering to observe the three main ethnicities (Indian, Chinese, and Malay) living simultaneously amongst each other. While visiting the Batu Caves, I witnessed a beautiful combination of religions, ethnicities, and food. Although the Batu Caves home Hindu temples, peoples of all ethnicities and religions are welcome to walk up the stairs and admire the beautiful caves hidden up above. As we walked the inner city streets, I observed a variety of cuisines including Malaysian, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, and many fusions incorporating two or more cuisines.
Finally, visiting the University of Malaya gave me a firsthand glimpse into the daily lives of college students living in Malaysia. We spent a decent amount of time conversing with the students, asking questions regarding their life at University along with life at home. I specifically had the pleasure to talk with Flo, whom I shared many commonalities with. She mentioned that she lives off campus in an Apartment and enjoys spending her time studying and being with friends!
