Visiting the National University of Singapore was one of my favorite experiences from the Singapore leg of the trip. Speaking to the local students allowed me to gain new perspectives on life in the city and learn new information about schooling and overall life in Singapore. I found it particularly interesting how much emphasis education has been on students in Singapore, especially from such an early age. I was surprised to learn that kids were placed in different schools when they were young, which can ultimately depict the rest of their future. Seeing the differences and similarities between the Singaporean and American school systems was very interesting.
