Our day began early at 8 a.m. with breakfast at the hotel. It was fascinating to notice how the breakfast options reflected a mix of cultures. Much of the food was typical of Asian cuisine, including noodles, miso soup, chicken, and pork, yet there were also American-inspired touches, such as tater tots. This unique blend gave us a taste of how local and international influences merge in daily life here.
For lunch, we had the chance to try authentic Taiwanese food. The meal consisted of rice served with a boiled egg and pork chops. While it wasn’t my personal favorite, it was a wonderful opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and experience the local flavors. After lunch, we indulged in a fun and creative activity: making pineapple pie. We shaped the pies into playful cat designs, which made the dessert not only delicious but also memorable.
Overall, it was a fantastic start to the trip, combining cultural exploration, culinary adventures, and a touch of creativity.
