This past week in Germany has been very exciting, with just meeting our host families to the World Cup final on Sunday. But it has also been a lot of work; each day we have class from 9 to 12:30 and then again from 1:30 to 3, which is pretty tiring. Some days I’ve taken naps and others not, but the majority of the time I’ve been pretty tired.
Not only have we been going to class and learning German, but we made good friends with some Swiss students also studying at Kapito. None of them speak English very well, so we end up conversing in a mixture of English, French, and German. It’s pretty entertaining, but all of our decisions on where to eat or where to go take forever.
Anyway, I’m hoping we all get a little better at German so we can communicate more efficiently. I’m not sure if I’ve improved yet, but I think I will soon.
It’s always interesting learning another language and interacting with people from all over the world. Being immersed in Germany, you’ll surprise yourself with how much German you are actually learning! Be patient and practice as much as you can! 🙂
