I am so glad that I have been keeping track of what I am doing everyday. Honestly, some days are so busy and exciting that I forget to update the note in my phone. It is fun to recall all of my adventures a few days after. And reflecting on my experiences through this blog is exciting as well. I may not be able to see it now, but I’m sure that weeks and months and years after I reread these posts, I will truly see how much this study abroad experience has been a part of my personal and professional growth.
There are a few highlights from the past couple of weeks that I would like to mention. On Sunday, I met up with a friend from Rollins who is doing a different program. We went to the flower market in bethnal green and then went to Nando’s afterwards for lunch. It was my first time going on the Central Line but it was pretty easy to navigate since I am pretty used to the underground station system. Nando’s is one of the best places! I feel like a real Londoner, it is quite cheeky, as they say. I broke my rule of going back to the same place twice. But this is so worth it.
On Tuesday I saw my first theatre show in London! I saw Bend it Like Beckham after work. It was amazing! I could write a whole analysis about it. It was just fabulous. The story, the costumes, the lighting, I really really enjoyed it. I am so excited to see more shows! I got this ticket from CAPA because we get to choose two events that are part of our program price. But I will have to make an effort to get discount tickets for other shows I want to see, and of course there are quite a few of them.
Lately, I have been working on school work since I have an essay for each of my four classes. I finished two of the four and am happy with my progress so far. I worked ahead since I have a lot of exciting things coming up. Saturday morning, my boyfriend arrives in London and will be here for a few weeks! And for fall break, my parents and I will be in Rome and then come back to London.
I AM SO EXCITED AND I LOVE LONDON. Time goes fast and it can be busy and stressful at times but I am so lucky to be here. I will make the most of everything. I am so lucky to have such an amazing boyfriend and family. Feeling all of the feels <3 #laurengoestolondon
