Good afternoon, good evening or good night. Right now, it is 10:27 PM London time. What an amazing few weeks it has been. I took a trip to the Kenilworth Castle in Stratford and enjoyed the views of some beautiful castle ruins. To get there, I enjoyed a ride through the farmlands and countryside of the United Kingdom.
In London, I visited the Louis Vuitton Exhibition at the Strand, which showcased the making of the Louis Vuitton bags with French crafters. I saw the original Louis Vuitton canvas trunks and learned about the original print. The original Louis Vuitton print is the checkered Damier designed by the man Louis Vuitton himself. The popular canvas print was the second print to come out and was designed by Louis Vuitton’s father after Louis passed away. This exhibit was only in London for a few weeks and will continue traveling on to Paris and Milan.
I have met some very friendly British people in the city. I was on the tube this week on my way to my internship and a woman and I started chatting about how crowded the Tube was on a Tuesday at 10:15 AM. We then had a chit-chat about some of the museums and some of the places she suggests that I visit. It’s great to talk to locals and get another perspective on their view of the city and fun things that they do here.
I am anxiously awaiting the start of the Christmas season. I’ve seen angel wings and colored bulbs above me decorating the streets as I walk past. The locals say that London is the most beautiful at Christmas time. The streets are lit up on Oxford Street in Central London and it is lively and filled with Christmas spirit.
