The rest of my weekend in Ibiza was relaxing and exciting. It was exactly what I needed and wanted: to spend the time with my boyfriend having lots of food and drinks by poolside.
Sunday afternoon we had a layover in Barcelona. It was just for a few hours but I could tell it was a gorgeous city. I definitely want to go back for at least a few days! Monday I flew to Rome to meet my parents. Some of the highlights in Rome were touring the Vatican, visiting all the piazzas, seeing the Jewish Museum, and going through other museums. I really enjoyed walking around the streets of Rome, observing the people, admiring the exquisite architecture, and realizing the similarities and differences between Rome and everywhere else I know and have been. Of course my favorite part was the food tour we did on Wednesday. Such amazingly delicious food and to see the passion and love of the chefs/families and of their work was uplifting. It was a touching and beautiful moment. It was an unforgettable trip.
But oh how the time went fast. I made it back just in time to see Justin before he went on the train back to the airport. Difficult to say goodbye, but as said before I know I will see him soon.
After my parents and I settled back into London, we had lunch at Nando’s ( I had to introduce them to this London classic) and then went to Piccadilly Circus to walk around. It was exciting to watch my parents see London for the first time. It helped me to be more excited about being here too. I have been here for quite some time now and since I am comfortable, sometimes I do not appreciate every sight and every moment. But I am constantly reminded that I must do so.
My parents left on Monday when I had to go back to class. Back to reality this week, but I am looking forward to getting back into the routine. My goals for the last part of the semester are to finish strong in class and at work, and make the most of my time left. More traveling and sight seeing to come. I plan to make a bucketlist!
