Getting back into the school/work routine wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It was still difficult to get up earlier, and it certainly felt weird to sleep in my bed again. Perhaps it really hit me when the weekend came and I wasn’t in another country. In a way, it felt good to get back into the routine. For, although the time is ticking, I could spend the rest of the time focusing on both personal and professional goals. I feel secure with routine and structure, but I have found that spontaneity or at least taking a deep breath and going with the flow suits me too. I have more wanderlust in me than I thought.
Anyways, some of the recent highlights include going to the imperial war museum for a class field study, going to the borough market and brick lane, and seeing the lion king. I enjoy field classes because they are opportunities to be immersed in the city and learn from the past and present. We walked through the WWI and Holocaust exhibitions; both were well done and quite emotional. The borough market and brick lane were fabulous ways to spend the day on saturday. Food and culture are big parts of the area so I was glad I could finally go to these places and enjoy some quality treats. The theatre here is superb! I was lucky and bought a discounted ticket with a good seat Sunday morning of the matinee show. It brought tears to my eyes and left me speechless; it was so beautiful and well done.
Thursday was the CAPA Social, which was a boat party. It was a lot of fun! This past weekend was another weekend filled with adventure, fun, and food. Tomorrow I am seeing Matilda, which is the other MyEducation event. (the first was when I saw Bend it Like Beckham). I like theatre, in case you didn’t pick up on that yet. And on Thursday I am going to Prague with a good friend. I am so excited!
