Well four weeks is up and a lot has happened. The other Rollins students have become some of my closest friends, and even some students from Kapito will stay close in the future. We had an amazing time in Munster and it’s a little bittersweet to be leaving. I feel like Kapito was a great experience, maybe not the best classes or organizational skills, but overall fantastic. The culture of Germany has been an interesting subject and meeting the few Germans that I met, I can say they are an excellent group of people.
Surprisingly I think I learned more about the cultures of other European countries than Germany, considering we only hung out with Swiss students and some Spaniards. Yet I don’t think that’s a bad thing either, we got to see a little piece of every culture, which is a greater exposure than what I had hoped for.
It will be weird going back home, where we have two weeks left until we head back to Rollins. I hope that I do not forget my time in Germany, especially all the relationships I created there. We have already begun to plan a trip to Switzerland, and maybe that will work out.
Anyway I’m also very pleased with this trip because my German tested level went from a 440 or so, to a 561 (out of 600). Therefore I think this trip did a great deal not only for my exposures to other cultures, but also my ability in the German language. Hopefully I don’t forget all that I’ve learned in the past month!
Hey Josh! I relaized the same when I got my test results back. It was cool meeting and fun running Münster with the crew, I wish you the best at Rollins this coming semester. Keep in touch and i’ll talk to you soon.
