I may or may not currently be wiping tears from my cheeks as I type this post. With Thanksgiving easily being my favorite day of the year it was definitely tough not being in the states. Since the holiday is not celebrated in Spain there were literally no signs that it was actually Thanksgiving. The only way I am positive that the day has truly come and gone were the numerous social media postings and texts messages of friends and family with plates piled high with all of my favorite foods. Despite not being able to have the traditional Thanksgiving foods I still have countless things to be grateful for including my host mothers amazing cooking and our program director who took the time to take us out to eat in in observance of the American holiday. Now, with the day being over and the videos of crazed Black Friday shoppers already surfacing on the internet, I am interested to see if Black Friday is outrageous here as it is in the states. I highly doubt and pray that it won’t be since it is still relatively new here, but we can only wait. Hope everyone had a great holiday and remembers everything that we have to be thankful for!
