The streets and city of London are decorated to perfection during this special time of year. Now I believe everyone who told me “just wait until Christmas time-London is the most beautiful place to be!”
In Hyde Park, there is an amusement park just for the holidays called Winter Wonderland. There’s an ice rink, ice bar, park rides, games, marshmallow roasting, holiday drinks and food. I went on this amazing ride that went 50 meters above the city with a spectacular view of London. I saw the London Eye and the entire city from above! Ice-skating was enjoyable. I felt like I was a kid again in Massachusetts in the winter ice-skating outside. It was a cool experience. To top it off, I enjoyed some hot cocoa afterwards.
Yesterday, my flat mates and I traveled an hour and a half outside of London to see a rugby game. The stadium was amazing! The game was Ireland vs. England. I enjoyed seeing what a rugby match was like. I was truly immersed into the English culture- rugby is such a big deal here.
I am going to miss the London nightlife. This weekend, a few friends and I went to a nightclub with fire breathing dancers and snake charmers. This is my favorite club and I have been about five times, but I put my friends on the guest list and they experienced the excitement for the first time. The nightclub also had Christmas trees with lights and snow and a nativity, Christmas stalkings and festivities all in two additional rooms to the main show area. I am very well feeling the Christmas spirit in London.
