So I’ve been in Rome for about a month now and love it so much! You might never see me again. I’m making this place my permanent home. Despite all of the fun I’m having, for two weeks I’ve been trying to cope with an injury and I’ve reached my limit. In the past I had Sever Syndrome which affected how I walked and wore shoes. I thought I was finally done with it but the pain in the back of my right heel has returned only much, much worse. My walking tours have been very difficult and aggravated my heel, giving me a painful red bump. The doctor said I have Haglund’s Deformity which is an abnormal bone on my heel and my shoes pressed the tendon into the bone giving me tendinitis. Basically, I can’t walk again! I tried to defy the doctor by going for a six hour walk around Rome this past weekend and it backfired. My heel swelled up to the size of a golf ball. My attempt having failed, I have to get my shoe corrected so I can walk normally again. This is such a pain. Because of this stupid problem I’ve been resting in bed and haven’t done a lot of sight seeing or traveling. I’m trying to stay off of it as much as I can so that I’ll be healthy for the Venice trip this upcoming weekend. Hopefully everything will work out for the best.
I did manage to get some pictures of the Pantheon…the quality’s not that great because I tried taking them while my foot was throbbing with pain. I’m too ashamed of the other pictures.
