If you have had the wonderful opportunity of eating food from the international chain Nando’s , with a Portuguese theme, you have to know that delicious food is only a teaser for the authentic food of Portugal. One of the best decisions of that trip was to ask a local where some great Portuguese food could be found. We were not stirred wrong.
Truth be told, this itinerary was organized less strategically than the other ESN organized ones, but we had a blast and I am pretty confident it halved our costs at least to travel with 70 other people. The hostel we stayed in was amazing. The staff was truly incredible and so helpful to me when I ran out of memory space on my GoPro memory card. They let me use their laptop behind the counter to transfer videos for around half an hour and kept checking on me to see if I needed any help. Entertainingly, as I was behind the counter and people needed to check in, I started to help and worked the bar too as their staff was doing other things. It was a great time and we made a lot of new friends.
The only down side was the continuous rain in Lisbon, but nonetheless still beautiful and fun. Anyways, Porto made up for the other weather. Porto deserves some real tennis shoes by the way. Thinking about it, there definitely needs to be a study abroad program in Portugal.
