Spain Blog
Before coming to Spain, I had no idea what to expect. I had never traveled outside the country without my mother before and the anticipation leading up to the very moment was relentless. When arriving to Madrid, I was happy to hear that we were staying at a hotel the first night. The first night could’ve been better, considering one of my roommates woke me up, banging on the door at 4 in the morning and making multiple calls because she had lost her wallet. However, once we all got settled into our new housing arrangements, I could finally relax. Within my time in Spain, I was able to travel various places including Toledo, Valencia, Barcelona, and now Candelario. I was able to go to the beach, experience night life in different areas, go shopping, and interact with the locals. I have made new acquaintances and made stronger bonds with people that I had not otherwise done if I hadn’t gone on this trip. Throughout my experience so far I have gained more knowledge about Spain, how to tolerate people, and even learned some more Spanish.
