As I write this, I’m sitting at Tom Bradley International at LAX waiting for my flight. After months of waiting and excitement, today is finally the day that I say goodbye to America to study abroad in New Zealand. My mind is racing, wondering about all the adventures that I hope to have while abroad. Although I was born out of the country, this will technically be my first international flight without my family. Although, I get to have 3 good friends by my side. I’m even more excited that I get the opportunity to spend a few days in Fiji to soak up the sun and get used to a 16 hour time change. As I sit here with one of my friends by my side, I am looking forward to all the new people I will have the chance to meet on this crazy adventure and the lifelong friendships I hope to make.
All I have now between me and this experience is an 11 hour flight across the world and into the southern hemisphere. I can’t even imagine all of the things that I will get to learn, all the pictures I’m going to take, and all the memories I hope to make. See you in New Zealand!
