For my last weekend in Madrid, I planned a last minute trip to Barcelona with my friend Charlotte. The night before, we bought our train tickets and found an Air bnb so we could explore the beautiful city of Barcelona we had only heard amazing things about and seen unreal pictures of. When we arrived to Barcelona, we spent the day walking up and down La Rambla, the famous boulevard for shopping. We walked by Gaudí’s famous La Pedrera building and Casa Batlló, which were both strikingly breathtaking as they are some of the most imaginative buildings in the history of architecture. The next day we spent at the beach, eating fruit, people watching, and taking turns napping. When the fruit no longer sufficed our hunger, we went and ate tapas at a local restaurant, and then got ice cream. We realized we were not going to have time to do everything we wanted to do in the short time that we were there, so we decided to get up early in the morning, before we got on our train, and hike up to Park Güell to see the sunrise. Knowing Charlotte and I, we took the wrong road, but in retrospect, we were so glad because we climbed to the top of a mountain that gave us the view of the entirety of Barcelona. And that is where we took this photograph. Later we finally found our way to Park Güell, which was absolutely gorgeous. Our time in Barcelona was absolutely amazing, and we were so fortunate to see such a beautiful city during our six weeks in Spain.
