The day I leave to study abroad has finally arrived. I am just now waking up and it is 6am! I have a few errands to run before I leave this afternoon; those of which include getting a haircut and going to a doctor’s appointment (fun right?) My plan is to be back home before noon that way I can just shower and ill be ready to leave (mind you I am never on time). Oh yea btw my flight is scheduled to depart at 3:20pm.
Okay so it’s currently 11:41am and everything I needed to do this morning surprisingly got done. Now I have to race against the clock in order to get ready before my mother gets home and starts to nag me for not being ready (Trust me when I say you do not want to hear this woman nag).
12:32pm, I’m currently in the car on the way to the airport. Even though I thought I had everything I needed and that I wasn’t leaving anything behind, I was wrong. Before we finally left the house I had to go back up and down the stairs about four times in an effort to retrieve the few things that had slipped my mind.
So it turns out both of my bags were overweight; “pack lightly they said”. Oh well it didn’t matter because my mother tipped the guy and he let is slide (thanks mom).
I’m finally at my departure gate but my flight is currently being delayed until any three people decide to give up their seats on the plane in exchange for a later flight and a $800 voucher. The reason being? The airline over sold their seats. Good thing I chose the two-hour layover in Atlanta as opposed to the 50min one.
P.S. I purposely booked this flight so I could meet my friend at the Atlanta airport because she is afraid of flights and would not fly alone ….
