Well the countdown is finally over. I have been waiting to get to London since the day my friends and I hit send on our CAPA study abroad applications. Now that I am here and all settled into my cozy little flat and the jet lag has worn off its time to explore. I have nothing bad to say about the Shepard’s Bush area (where I will be living for the next few months). It’s been great walking around town and going to the mall and checking out all of the cute little pubs that are just a few steps away from the flat. I have already met so many awesome people that live in the same building as me and can’t wait to meet more people, once I have been to all of my classes. I can’t say that I have had any bad run ins with “culture shock” yet because I am still in the excitement and adventuresome part of the study abroad journey. For some reason I don’t feel like I’ll be the person to have any problems with culture shock because I love experiencing new things and going to different places and learning about different cultures. I have always loved not just learning about different cultures but actually experiencing them first hand. It has always been something that has intrigued me. So far I feel like London is such a big city that it will take a while to experience it but I want to try and experience it all during my time over here.
