So now I have been in London for all of 7 days, but it already feels like home! My apartment and living situation is amazing. I live near or with all of my friends in a nice location with everything I need a short walk away. Before arriving, everyone prepared me for living in a closet with 4 people, but my apartment- or flat- is rather spacious. One of my largest concerns was about getting along with my flatmates, but that has not been a problem at all. We are all very considerate and flexible and get along really well!
My classes so far seem fine- they are only once a week so each one is about 3 hours, which I will have to get used to. Fortunately the class sizes are about the same as Rollins and the professors are nice as well.
I am working in Parliament for my internship and it is exactly what I expected, and a bit boring. My coworkers are young and nice and they help me out when I don’t understand what is happening. My work is a lot of responding to constituent emails and keeping track of what they write to us about. On my first day they asking me to write an “A4” about the constituency, and I had no idea what that was. Turns out A4 is just printer paper. As time goes on, I hope I get better settled into my office and don’t feel quite so out of place.
