Ciao!
This past weekend we took a school trip to visit Pompeii, Capri, and Naples. We left Friday morning and then spent that afternoon touring Pompeii. We then took a ferry to Capri where we stayed in Anacapri After dinner we got the night to ourselves and explored Anacapri. Saturday morning we hiked to Villa Jovis, the second highest point on the island. After that we went down to the main harbor to get lunch and take a boat ride around the island. The boat ride was absolutely beautiful and our guide took us to some grottos where we could swim. Since we only had the boat for to hours we decided not to wait in line to see the Blue Grotto, that we would rather swim instead. Sunday morning we left and stopped at Naples on our way home for lunch and to visit the Naples National Archeological Museum. Capri was by far my favorite place from this trip.
This upcoming weekend my Art Conservation class is taking a trip to Venice to see how the water issue is decaying their city. We’re currently learning about what measures could be taken to prevent farther decay and destruction. I am most looking forward to touring the city in a gondola!
Other than that I have just been taking classes and exploring more of Rome! The food is fantastic, I have not had a bad meal yet. Yet I am missing American style breakfast. Breakfast here is a croissant or roll and coffee. I would kill for the omelet bar at Rollins right about now.
Arrivederci!
