I am having the best time of my life. Everyday London offers me a new adventure; there are an endless amount of things to see and do. Since my last blog post, I went to see Wicked in a theater, I went to the Imperial War Museum, checked out a bunch of different pubs, visited the home where Charles Dickens wrote Oliver Twist, been to the Imperial War Museum, gone up on the London Eye, and experienced the magic of Harry Potter Studios. I think the most memorable moment during all of these trips was walking around the Great Hall of Hogwarts at Harry Potter Studios—it was the actual one they used during the making of the films! I went with Queen Mary student events for this attraction. However, I would NOT recommend using QMUL student events if you can unless you’re extremely passionate about one of the events they have: their prices are inflated and they give little detail on how to get your tickets or where/when to meet for transportation. I bought tickets to see a show at the Globe Theater back in the summer, but unfortunately I had classes during the show and I asked for a refund. They never got back to me about returning the money to my account even though my course schedule was not released when it was time to make the reservation during the summer. I’ll probably forward them this blog post.
I realized that I should have learned how to cook more things before I came here. The dinning services are nowhere near as good as Rollins and only provide ten meals a week. So usually I have to make the same thing over and over again or go out to eat, which is taking a huge toll on the money I have set aside for this semester.
I am taking my first trip to Paris with the Viator company this weekend for an awesome deal. I am paying 215 USD for my transportation, hotel accommodation, and tour guides—all of which have good reviews. I will write about this trip in my next blog.
