Looking back on the first two weeks of October, my time in London seems to be a blur. By the second week of classes (the first week of October) my excitement of being in London had only increased and was still on the rise. My classes were all covering more and more interesting information. I especially began to enjoy my History module on British Horror Cinema and my English module on the First World War. My favorite part of these classes are the analyses we do on either the films we watch or the books we read. My favorite assignment so far was reading All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. The book was incredibly compelling and provided many new outlooks on life, war, and relationships. As enjoyable as my classes have been, the most fun I’ve had here has been with the new friends I’ve made.
Whether we’re drinking champagne on the top of the London eye or baking a homemade lasagna together, every experience I’ve had with the people I’ve made friends with here is unforgettable. I’ve come to see during my time here that this trip will forever hold a special place in my head and heart. If I had a choice, I would spend another semester at QMUL or even another year. I’ve truly embraced the school, the city, and the people that surround me.
