Quick recap: National Holiday is celebrated October 1-7 (Saturday – Friday). My friends and I decided to start our trip on Thursday and Headed to Hainan, China’s most southern and beautiful island. We spend Friday at Mission Hills Resort where we relaxed in 168 cold and hot springs and underwent a bunch of Chinese healing.
“SPRANNNGGGG BREAAAAKKKKK!!!” … The amount of times is screamed that as we celebrated China’s National Holiday was crazy. I mean, we headed to the most beautiful island in China so how could I not feel like I was on Spring Break?!
On Saturday, we took a train to Hainan’s most beautiful city, Sanya, where we would spend the rest of our vacation. The train ride was phenomenal because it went straight through the mountainous rainforest covering most of Hainan. On this ride we truly got to see another side of China that I honestly didn’t know existed. I felt like I was in Hawaii.
When we arrived in the late afternoon, we headed to the Renaissance Resort where we stay the next 3 days. Let me tell you, this resort was amazing! This was hands down the nicest resort I have ever stayed at. We chose this hotel because it was right on the beach and most of the property was pool. The hotel not only had a large central pool, but it had a wraparound pool that ran adjacent to all of the rooms. If you were on the first floor you could literally walk out of your back door and step down into the pool! We spent our three days in Sanya relaxing in one of the many pools, swimming and laying out on the beach, and exploring the city.
When it was time to leave the resort and head back to Shanghai, I wanted to cry. Enjoying the beautiful island of Hainan with great friends was something I wanted to end. So, if you ever want to go to a beautiful tropical island, I 10/10 recommend Hainan!
