Moin!
Today I finally understood what people warned me about time literally escaping from your fingertips while studying abroad. Where did the last three weeks go? I am usually on top of writing my blogs but since November began my schedule swept me off my feet. From the first week of this month, I took a trip to Berlin on Thursday to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers (which was amazing); travelled to Harz Mountains on Saturday to go hiking up Brocken, the highest point in the mountain range; and went indoor rock-climbing on Sunday. When I finally came back to my room on Sunday I was overwhelmed by how sweet November has been. To add to the madness, last Wednesday was the first time I got to see snow. Bremen does not have the best weather in the world… it is either foggy, rainy or both. The white snow changed the city entirely. For once, everything looked pure and graceful. In addition there was no rain! Bremen was the polar opposite of Orlando, Florida.
This last weekend I had the pleasure to visit Oviedo, Spain where the Rollins’ Spanish Program is hosted and got to see some really good friends. It was so nice to see familiar faces again and understand the country’s language. Oviedo, to an extent, reminded me of the populated cities along the Andes Mountains in Ecuador. And that sense of home left me heart-broken walking into the Aeropuerto de Asturias. Till next time, but Spain is definitely a country I could see myself living in. Now to prepare for Physics Lab tomorrow and get ready for Manchester, United Kingdom this weekend.
Bis später,
Ana
