By far, the biggest event of these two weeks was the US presidential election. As a Hillary supporter the election results utterly shocked me and hovered over me like a cloud for many days after November 8th. However, I didn’t let my disappointment ruin the week after the election and the week before I gave little thought to US politics. As November began I began to get more serious about my assignments and began researching for the papers due in December. Starting early in November allowed me to spend some time on my work and some time with friends, while still feeling comfortable about completing my assignments. The most fun day from the first week of November was the day Collin, Andrej, and I went to see Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Leicester Square. I had really wanted to see all these British icons and they did not disappoint. Shortly after, on November 8, my friends and I watched as election results came in and by 5am we had resigned ourselves to Trump’s victory. The days after I felt tremendously homesick and had little motivation to do anything. However, it is now November 16th and I have decided that letting the results of the election upset me will just feed in to the division present in American public life. With this thought I began to feel much better and have decided to invest myself more in the future of my country.
