My third Wednesday in London is coming to an end, signaling the start of my fourth week in this wonderful city. These past few days have been a whirlwind of adventures and emotions, which fills me with excitement about what’s coming next.
On Wednesday, September 7th, I arrived at my new London flat feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as I began my first experience on my own. Since I have always lived off-campus and with my parents, I was eager to see what life would be like without them. My experience got off to a great start as I met my roommates and instantly clicked with them. I then got my first taste of adulthood as we all went grocery shopping and I realized I would no longer have home-cooked meals waiting for me at home. The rest of my week flowed smoothly as I went from one orientation to the next and culminated in an extremely fun roommate outing.
Monday rolled around and I had my internship interview, which was excellent. The site coordinator was welcoming and the job descriptions filled me with excitement. I went to class on Tuesday and Wednesday and felt happy to see how interesting my courses looked. I had the rest of the week off to explore the city and it was easy to be lured by its energy. I spent the weekend with my roommates and together, we went to Stonehenge and Bath. The entire week was amazing.
Week 3 began with my first day at my internship and it was amazing. I got to meet all the older people whom I’ll be working with and they instantly won me over with their charm. I am excited to see what these following weeks in London will be like.
