My first three weeks in Lancaster have been slow. I have not really had the chance to go out and do much because I am still getting settled into Lancaster. Outside of exploring the town for the first time there is not much to do here. It is a nice small town that can be covered in about a day. Outside of the pubs there is not much to do. All the shops close at five so the whole town minus the pubs and clubs is shut down pretty early.
The campus itself is very nice, and larger than Rollins. I had trouble figuring out where all my classes are because of how big the campus is. There is a lot to do on campus, there are eight pubs on campus, six different food places that I have found so far but I hear there are more. The campus also has a lot of societies, and they all vary so much there is a society for everyone.
The only downside to all of this is everything on campus costs money. You have to get a gym membership to sign up, all clubs cost money to join, there are no free things to do on campus. Things are also more expensive here mainly because of the conversion rate though. This all sucks because I’m on a limited budget so I can not do all the things that I want to. Also, the food so far has been bland compared to back home.
