Well time has been moving pretty fast, we have a little over month left in Spain and I have had a blast thus far here in Europe. The first excursion of November was to León, which is south of Oviedo. The most significant building in León is the León Cathedral because of its Gothic architecture. After visiting the cathedral, we visited Basílica de San Isidoro, which has a strong Romanesque and Gothic influence.
The following weekend we visited two museums in Asturias: Mining Museum of Asturias and the Sidra Museum. The Mining Museum of Asturias was quite interesting because we went underground into an old coal mine. The last museum we visited was the Sidra Museum. Sidra is alcoholic drink made with fermented apples. While touring the museum, we learned about how this Asturias specialty is made and its history.
The next couple weeks I will be travelling out of the country. Next weekend, I will be travelling to Lisbon, Portugal, and then the following week I will be going to Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria for Thanksgiving.
