This past week I went to Scotland…and I was absolutely amazed! Amazed by how beautiful it was, how cold it was, its history, and its people! I went to Edinburgh for a night and stayed in a hotel (which was a new experience), then travelled all the way up to Fort Augustus to see the famous Loch Ness, and finally went a little bit more North to reach the beautiful little town of Inverness. Scotland is so beautiful. I just think the landscape there is amazing and I got to see all the leaves changing colors. It was absolutely freezing!!! Which I wasn’t expecting in October (I can’t even imagine what it’s like in December and January), but I managed to stay warm in the pubs at night haha. The people there are also so nice. They are very down to earth and straight forward kind of people (which I like). They are also very in tuned with their Scottish heritage. They all know their clan heritage and which clan each other are from. Being Scottish, I found this very exciting to learn about my heritage in the Highlands, which is the land where the clans occupied. I am part of the Royal Clan of Stuart through the line of Mary Queen of Scots (Mary Stuart). But there are many different clans that occupied the territories of the highlands. We also got to stop at Glencoe, which is somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for a while now. This place has been heavily photographed on instagram, and I think it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. (see attached picture) Definitely look forward to going back one day.
