It seems that no matter how long you live in China, there is always something new or interesting going on. Old restaurants (or bars and clubs if you’re into nightlife) seem to disappear overnight with new ones starting there the following morning. Recently, I ate at a fantastic Thai restaurant called Simply Thai on the 5th floor of the Hopson One mall in Wujiaochang. Afterwards, I tried out the arcade there.
For the first time, I tried virtual reality. As most people know, virtual reality is a booming industry—especially in China. However, as is often the case between reading a book and actually experiencing it, I found it to be a bit lackluster. That being said, I am not swayed in my opinion that virtual reality will continue to grow exponentially in the near future and be all that we dreamed it would be.
Unfortunately, my time here draws to a close and most of my time is spent trying to balance studying for final exams and spending valuable time with my invaluable, newfound friends here in China. I hope to come back as soon as possible to see other parts of China such as Beijing (yes, I know, four months and I didn’t go to Beijing), Huangshan, Jiuzhaigou, Dunhuang, Hainan, Guilin, and several more.
