My trip to Berlin was incredible. I went to visit my cousin who has been living there for two years. I was surprised to see him talking fluent German with just two years of speaking the language. He took me to many places where we walked a lot and also used the metro. Berlin is full of interesting things to see especially after the war. I’ve always been very interested in knowing about World War II and this is the place where the war ended. You could see gunshots on some of the columns and monuments. The sculptures on top of important buildings were black because of all the smoke from the war. All of these things called my attention and it gave me a great picture of how it was like back in the 1940’s. The wall was another thing that I really like and it makes me happy that the city has been liberated from that segregation. It must have been awful for families who got separated given their geographical locations in the city. The nightlife was phenomenal and the people were really nice. I really liked how you could be walking through some really old buildings and suddenly you get to see this really modern buildings which were built after the war.
