I have finally submitted my last assignment to Queen Mary, bringing my semester abroad to a definitive close. Being back home has been bittersweet. It was one of the best feelings to get back to my house and be reunited with my family, but at the same time I miss lots of the people I met and befriended in London. It has also been great to be reunited with my friends at Rollins and it is exciting to not only see how they have changed over the semester, but also to see how I have changed over the past four months. Being home has made it strikingly clear that I am not the same person I was when I left for my semester abroad and I couldn’t be happier with the change. Looking back it is clear now that studying abroad not only was an integral experience to my education, but also an integral experience for my personal development. For this reason, I am so happy and grateful to have had the opportunity to study abroad. While I knew all along that my time abroad would be unforgettable, I now appreciate just how much of a formative and unforgettable experience my time abroad was.
