Just when the temperature was starting to warm up and I was enjoying the sunny days, the rain came in and my hair grew out. At least while it was sunny, I made sure to take full advantage. Rooftops in Hong Kong are plentiful. Count all of the tall buildings and I can guarantee there is a way to get to the top of each and everyone. It is one of the many things that I enjoy about this city. Even if there may not be as much nature, they make sure there are still spaces to relax and enjoy the view. On one of these sunny days, I met up with one of my exchange friends and we grabbed some breakfast to go to take to the rooftop of one of the buildings on campus. There were some picnic tables up on the roof and it was a perfect little “picnic” in the urban landscape. These past few weeks have been stressful with classes and assignments due, but this sunny day was just what I needed to remind myself of exactly where I was and what I was doing. I may be overwhelmed with work or worried about things that are going to happen in the future, but it was nice to be in the present. I am in Hong freaking Kong! I keep forgetting that what I consider my regular life right now is still such an adventure. It changes my perspective on a daily basis and for this, I am a better person.
