It has been my dream to visit London ever since I was little. This weekend I achieved that dream. Trying to experience London in 48 hours was a daunting task. To help see everything possible, my friend and I booked tickets for a hop-on hop-off double decker bus tour. The tour was great because it drove us to all of the important landmarks and allowed us to get off at the ones that we wanted to see. We took in all the sights: Big Ben and Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace just to name a few. We also took a spin on the London Eye, which provided the most stunning views of the city. A river cruise on the Thames was an extra free addition to our bus ticket. We took the cruise up the river to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The crown jewels are housed inside the Tower and they are even more spectacular to see in person.
London is also home to world famous museums. We decided to go to the National Gallery where one of my favorite paintings, The Arnolfini Portrait, is on display. Works from Da Vinci, Michalengelo, Van Gogh, and so many others hang in the galleries.
We concluded our trip to London in one of the best ways possible: shopping at Harrods. Harrods is six plus floors of shopping. I could not believe how big this department store is, but it was definitely amazing.
I have only scratched the surface on what London has to offer and I look forward going back in the future.
