It’s been a while since I’ve last blogged, sorry about the lapse in time. Earlier this week I took a tour out to the West Coast of Ireland to the Cliffs of Moher. The trip out to the west coast was lovely and we drove along through the valleys of the west coast along Galway Bay. Along the way, our tour guide explained these stone walls that were throughout all the fields along the road nearing the west coast. He explained that the British forced the Irish to stack limestone on top of each other during the Famine in order for the Irish to afford rent and split up farmland. We stopped in The Burren, which is filled with rocks in all directions where the Irish were forced to live by the English after the conquest.
Then we stopped at the Cliffs of Moher. The Cliffs of Moher are truly a sight to behold, extending over 5 miles connecting the two small villages on either side of the Cliffs are over 200 meters above the Galway Bay. The views on the Cliffs were absolutely breathtaking, however, I strayed away from the edges due to my deathly fear of heights.
