The past couple weeks have been a bit of a wind-down period for adventures and a wind-up period for revisions. My load is pretty easy considering I have only one exam on May 19th and an essay on the 4th, but with a recent hit of cold weather here in London, I am trying to take advantage of the dreariness and get my work done ahead of time. That way, I will be more than ready for the warmer days coming up in the forecast.
However, that’s certainly not to say adventures have come to a sudden halt! Goodness no. I recently took a day to more thoroughly explore the Chelsea and Kensington area with a couple friends. Our first stop was the Victoria and Albert Museum. This is a place I’m not even sure how to quantify. A conglomeration of everything from fashion, to art and sculpture, to relics from Asia, and everything in between, it is truly a collection at which to marvel. I stood in awe before the massive paintings of Raphael, stood amidst delicately carved Romanesque statues, and marveled at the clothing of ages past. And all this was within a building more akin to a palace than a museum. Wandering the neighborhood are around, we passed by opulent flats, draped with the stunning purple wisteria of the season, cozy cafes with tantalizing pastries, and the glistening Albert Bridge along Chelsea embankment.
