This past Sunday, I had the best experience ever, for I went back to Hogwarts. For those who know me very well, they will tell you that I am probably the biggest Harry Potter fan you will ever meet. From memorabilia, to going to the midnight releases for the books and movies, to attending wizard rock concerts and Harry Potter conventions. Harry Potter has been and always will be a major part of my life. So naturally, one of the major things that I wanted to do while studying here in London was go to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour, and this past Sunday my wish came true.
I had been planning this trip with my friend Kendra for the longest time. So, when Sunday rolled around we were all decked out in our Gryffindor uniforms ready to go back to Hogwarts. At the studio tour, you are on the actual lot where the filming for all eight Harry Potter films were made. All of the props, costumes, and designs seen there were the actual ones that were used in the movies. For me, it was a huge moment, because here I was standing where all of the magic from the books came to life.
Now I won’t give away all of the secrets, from the tour for it is something you should go do yourself when you come to London. But when you do go, here are a few things you should do:
- Dress up. It will make the experience all the more fun and the pictures you take all the more epic.
- Take your time going through the tour. It’s self guided so you’re able to take as long as you want. Just make sure you take it all in. It’s worth it.
- Go fly a broom and a flying car. Trust me it’s worth it.
- Have some butterbeer! You’re in one of the three places in the world that it’s sold, so why not go get some?
That whole day was amazing for me and Kendra! A life long dream was accomplished. I can’t wait to go back again. But for now, our mischief has been managed.
Love from London!
