Although I have enjoyed the many different places we have traveled to over the past six weeks, I really liked our weekend trip to Candelario. Candelario not only gave me a chance to escape the crowded city, but it allowed me to also appreciate a beautiful landscape. My favorite part of the weekend was walking through the town and learning about the architecture of the homes that lined the streets. I thought it was very interesting that the small town was known for its meat packing and chorizo, because the homes were creatively built in such a way to benefit the delicious commodity. Although Candelario is a very small and simple town, the people that live there are lucky to be part of such a historically rich and breath-taking part of Spain.
