Today starts the long journey from Florida to Roma. I will be in Rome until December 15, so a little over 100 days. This will be my second study abroad program that I’ve done, so I am not nervous about going over seas again. Prior to this study abroad, I went last fall semester in Spain, so I am excited to get a taste of a different country and culture. I am excited about the ISA program especially because it seems very organized and has the opportunity to meet more American students other than Rollins student. I look forward to meeting new people, whether it’s other American students or locals. I also look forward to the programs excursions all around Italy as well as traveling separately with my twin and I. We have traveled to other countries last study abroad so I am glad to add more countries to our list. As international business majors, I want to put as many countries under my belt and this study abroad experience makes it possible to do so. This study abroad will also be a good comparison to my last experience. Last study abroad, I lived in a very small town with only Spanish speakers and I lived with a host mom. Rome is a bigger city which will be easier to communicate and I will not be living with a host mom. These are two things that make me excited to be apart of this program. I am excited to travel, meet new people, experience a new culture, and most importantly eat a lot of Italian food.
