{"id":1030,"date":"2015-04-11T12:02:53","date_gmt":"2015-04-11T16:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/social.rollins.edu\/wpsites\/letters\/?p=1030"},"modified":"2019-07-29T21:39:03","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T21:39:03","slug":"berlin-morale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/2015\/04\/11\/berlin-morale\/","title":{"rendered":"Berlin Morale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If chapter four (\u201cMarching on their Stomachs\u201d) focused on the rationing, chapter two (\u201cA Guarded Optimism\u201d) highlighted the effects of the blackout upon the Berlin residents.\u00a0 It is interesting to see how both affected people\u2019s morale but the rationing was immensily more effective (militarly speaking). \u00a0The advent of radar technology made the blackouts innefective yet the government ensured on making it happen \u2013 despite the tactible increase in deaths as a result of the ensured darkness. It just seemed so far-fetched there was ever a time when pilots relied only on visual determination.<\/p>\n<h1><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/kaiser-wilhelm-memorial-church-225x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18039 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/kaiser-wilhelm-memorial-church-225x300-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/h1>\n<h1><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/berlindividedcity.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/07\/kasier-wilhelm-memorial-church\/\">Kasier Wilhelm Memorial\u00a0Church<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in West Berlin was preserved after a bombing in WWII<\/h1>\n<p>However, the most fascinating part is that despite the hardships of both government ensured policies, people\u2019s morale was not as affected as during WWI.
