While this is partially true, the one thing that brightens the streets is the colorful fashion trends I’ve been observing. Having my own fashion blog has trained me to spot any and all trends when I travel somewhere new, and London is not an exception. So having been here a month now, I’ve observed five trends that I believe are the most popular here in London at the moment.

Red Shoes

As stated before, London can be pretty dark in the winter. However, there are no lack of colorful shoes in the streets! I swear I see someone wearing a pair of red boots at least once a day. All the fashion shops I’ve walked into have them on display as well. So if you’re looking to stand out this winter, go find yourself a pair of these flashy bad boys.

Overalls

I’ve always been a huge fan of this trend, but never was sure if I was rocking it or just looking like a fifth grader. However, I’ve seen so many people rocking the overall look here. There are variations with pants and variations with skirts, but either way you can pair it with cute boots, a turtleneck, and a jacket and call it a day. Now I know that maybe I had the style of a Londoner within me this whole time!

Metallic Puffer Jackets

This is a pretty funky trend, but I’m a tad bit obsessed with it. I first spotted it when a girl walked onto the Tube wearing a silver and gold ombréd puffer jacket. It was love at first sight. I fell in LOVE with that jacket. I then began to notice so many other people wearing these puffer jackets in bright metallic shades. From silver, to bright blue, and even to bright pink, this is clearly the way to stand out!

Big Sleeved Blouses

This is another trend that I had adopted before I left for London. The bell sleeved look from the 70’s is making a come back! I’ve mainly notice that this trend is used when people are going out on the town for the night, however people use it in the workplace as well! Whether you’re going for a casual look with cute flower patterns or a fancier look with extravagant ruffles, transport yourself back in time and embrace the puffed up sleeves.

Fur Lined Jean Jackets

This is a trend I have yet to buy, but I’ve been searching high and low for a cheap version! Jean jackets are one of those versatile pieces that will never go out of style, but adding the fur to the inside is a super cool new way to wear this jacket. Not only will it stand out, but it will also keep you warm!

Well there you have it! If you want to be like a Londoner, follow these trends and you’re on the right path already (minus the accent of course!)
