I wanted to go to Australia because I figured that if I didn’t go now then it probably wouldn’t be at the top of my list of places to go when I got older. And as I’ve talked to people about my upcoming trip they have all affirmed that Australia is a place that they never got around to visiting, unlike places in Europe. I’ve been out of the country before to several other places but I think Australia will be such a different experience because even though they speak English over there I’ve never been abroad on my own without my friends or family so I think that this will be a really good time for me to explore how I do on my own and find out how independent and resourceful I can be. Preparing for this trip has made me really wish that procrastination was a marketable skill, because I excel in it like nothing else! When it came to this blog post I literally waited until the last day. If I had done that will all of my paper work (i.e. visa applications, class scheduling, insurance paperwork etc) I wouldn’t have been able to go. I learned that I thrive under a time crunch and am almost always able to get my stuff done within the last few hours of it being due; and I don’t do poorly on those tasks either! However, when it comes to travel plans staying up late the night before won’t get it all done. It takes days and weeks of planning and paperwork processing to get this stuff done. It’s made me realize how much of a bubble I’ve been in terms of being a child vs being an adult. Hopefully this time will help me to grow and learn and hopefully help me make some adjustments that will help me in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
