As someone who had very little experience living in a big city and navigating public transportation, I was pleasantly surprised to find London’s tube system straightforward and easy to use. I have met so many genuinely kind people in London and have enjoyed exploring the city that is so rich in history and culture. With many different and diverse boroughs, it’s easy to forget that London is actually one massive city. Each borough has its unique characteristics, and in a way, feels like its own individual town. I am excited to explore all of what my new home has to offer in the coming months.

Looking back on my first month in London, I can’t help but be thankful. I live in a flat located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, have the opportunity to intern at a Venture Capital firm based in Westminster, and even had the pleasure of attending two investors’ conferences with my International Finance professor — all things that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of so many people. During my weekends, I have been able to take trips outside of London and see other parts of the United Kingdom and Europe as well. I walked the grounds of the recent Royal Wedding at Windsor Castle, visited Stonehenge and Bath, hiked the Cliffs of Dover, enjoyed fish ‘n’ chips on Brighton Beach, and even took a trip to Paris. I am also thankful for my incredibly loving family, all of the support from Rollins and its International Programs office, and for my friends in London – both old and new. I can’t wait to share more of my future adventures with you all!

Living in London is a dream and my adjustment to the British lifestyle was almost too easy.
