{"id":12029,"date":"2018-12-09T07:58:40","date_gmt":"2018-12-09T12:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/social.rollins.edu\/wpsites\/letters\/?p=12029"},"modified":"2019-07-08T18:30:55","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T18:30:55","slug":"countdown-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/2018\/12\/09\/countdown-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"Countdown Begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">As my time in Italy begins to end, I\u2019ve begun to reflect on my time here, including what I\u2019ll miss about Rome and why I\u2019m still looking forward to going back home.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>With only 5 more days left in Italy, I must say that the countdown has been bittersweet.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Although I am so excited to be reunited with friends and family, I am also sad to say goodbye to all the people and places I\u2019ve grown to love and care for. In four months I have visited 7 countries, learned the basics of a new language, met friends from all over the world, taken classes taught in a more European-style, and realized how big, yet small the world is.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>To expand on the latter, what I mean is, no matter what country I\u2019ve been in, whether it was Austria, Spain, France, Prague, Budapest, Poland, Italy, or the Czech Republic, I, or one of my roommates have run into someone we know or someone from where we are from and are connected to.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is why the world is actually such a small place.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>However, before this trip I had spent the majority of my time in Florida and mainly traveled the Western side of the world.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Going to so many European countries, both in Eastern and Western Europe, some belonging to the Mediterranean culture and others not, I\u2019ve truly grasped just how much there is to see in this world.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This realization has motivated me all the more to go away from Florida for law school and truly think about settling down in another state.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve realized Europe is so full of history and culture, but for better or worse, America is home.
