The word was used to describe Adolf Hitler, and after reading Chapter 5 of&nbsp;<em>Berlin at War,&nbsp;<\/em>I now completely understand why.<\/p>\n<p>It strikes me as unsurprising that Hitler would have wanted an expansive, enormous megatropolis built in his honor to serve as the world&#8217;s new capital, once he had conquered enough of it to declare himself king. Yet, I can&#8217;t stop making comparisons to Disney&#8217;s EPCoT, in terms of the design. I&#8217;m not so sure Hitler cared too much for any of the potential new citizens of his enormous ode to himself, though.&nbsp;One of the two was dreamed up as a solution to the problems of the modern city, in order to increase the convenience to the people. &nbsp;The other was more a giant playground for one.<\/p>\n<p><em>~Sam<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The title of this blog post is one of the vocabulary words we learned in German 491 this semester.
