Here in Spain, however, I have been given the opportunity to learn about an ancient, distinct,\u00a0and culturally mixed history. Today, a group of us visited Segovia, a little Roman town near Madrid. We saw its famous aqueduct, the cathedral, and the castle. It\u2019s rumored that Walt Disney got his inspiration for Cinderella\u2019s castle from the Alc\u00e1zar of Segovia. As we toured the castle\u00a0I couldn\u2019t believe that I was walking through the same halls that Queen Isabella I had once walked. I think I may have even found my knight in shining armor. We finished the day by climbing 152 steps to the top of the castle\u2019s tower and could look out for miles and miles on the city and the mountains in the distance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I hope that wherever you find yourself this summer, you learn about the history that surrounds you.
