When I first discovered that I had been placed at an internship position with Matterport, I didn\u2019t know exactly what to expect as I\u2019d never been very familiar with 3D capture technology companies. Despite this, I was rather excited to know that I would be working with an organization whose clientele hailed from the world of real estate. This coupled with the company\u2019s track record of being well-funded, having partnerships with big name companies, and using state-of-the-art technology gave me the impression that this would be a good fit.

Despite having researched a decent amount about the company prior to meeting my supervisor, I couldn\u2019t help but feel a bit nervous before the interview. Is there something I may have overlooked? Are interviews in the UK significantly different from interviews in the US? What will the format be like? Despite these questions dancing around my mind, I remained calm and collected and buzzed into the office for the first time.

Since that day, I\u2019m glad to be able to say that working at Matterport has been a very enjoyable experience so far. Veronica, my supervisor, is very friendly, attentive, and has been immensely helpful whenever I have questions regarding my tasks and duties. I discovered that the London office has a Spanish, French, German, and English department so constantly being surrounded by a flurry of different languages has been a very unique experience and one that I especially appreciate given I have a passion for learning foreign languages. (Fun fact thanks to the French team: In northern France, chocolate croissants are called pain au chocolat <\/em>while in southern France, they are referred to as chocolatine<\/em>. If you say the wrong one in the wrong place, expect weird looks.) Overall, the office is filled with wonderful, hardworking individuals who know how to have a good time while getting things done. And to top it all off, the office features free snacks and drinks as well as free lunches on Wednesdays. All I can say is CAPA definitely did a great job with matching me with the right organization.
