These identities are developed gradually over time, and they seem to become more static as we age. And although all our identities will modify the lenses through which we see the world, I believe that with intent and discipline it\u2019s possible to temporarily relinquish the influence of an identity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I\u2019m getting ready to leave for Spain, I\u2019ve been putting some thought into what cultural and personal identities I hope to leave behind in the States. I\u2019ve also been considering what new habits and identities I want to develop while abroad. One of the resolutions that I&#8217;ve made is actually the opposite of a plan, and that is to just go with the flow and be open to new experiences.
